Happy Birthday Laura!
I have an amazing husband and amazing friends! He really made this day so special for me! The day started with a nice walk to school where I was greeted by our teacher, Simone, and our friends, John and Amy who sang a German birthday song to me. Then I had the task of blowing out trick candles – not an easy task without a bucket of water nearby. Our teacher also gave me a very pretty ring and a packet of Baking Soda (long story). We had a great morning in class.
We then went to Subway for lunch with John and Amy who joined us at our house afterward. We had a meeting in the afternoon with some people at our house (which went well, although it was my birthday) and then Thadd locked me up in a room for a 1/2 hour. During which time, he made me dinner and when I came down, there were our friends including our teacher, another teacher at the school and his wife. We had a lovely meal (very tasty – Thadd’s a good cook, but I heard he had help) and afterward, I opened up more presents!
It was such a nice time of relaxing with friends the entire day and I feel so loved and appreciated. Thank you to everyone who really made this day special for me. It is hard being away from “home” on your birthday, but honestly, today, this felt like home.
