I remember so distinctly that right after Laura was born, as I was laying there in my hospital room getting my first meal, that everything smelled normal again!!! It was like a miracle. Night and day.
The effects of pregnancy on a woman's system are amazing... :)

I found that pine branches, cedar branches, potpourri of the bark variety sitting all over the place helped...and then for places (like class or out somewhere) that I couldn't control I chewed lots of sugarfree gum. It's not a fun time.

We have an open floor plan and the smells from cooking dinner in the kitchen fill the entire house. We're able to close the doors to the rooms, but the stairwell collects all the smells of every dinner I've ever made - fun, huh? We did leave the windows open for three days while we were away and came back to a REALLY SUPER COLD apartment that took 24 hours to heat back up. And while the air was fresh for a couple hours, the smell came back. I'm sure it will just magically go away in a few weeks :-)

oh, the smells. Isn't it crazy? I could NOT tolerate the smell of chicken during my twin pregnancy.

What is it exactly that you smell? Just "house?" It's too cold for fresh air, isn't it? That always helped me.

You could sniff cars for drugs, but you might vomit on the evidence. Hmmm.

You are so right - DO laugh. As much as you possibly can. Because it is funny. And short-lived. She'll be here before you can believe it. = ) Meanwhile, know that many have gone before you, freaking out and nauseated by smells that can not be eradicated from earth!!

Yes, I suppose. But I've learned that this will be a long pregnancy if I don't learn how to laugh at some of the craziness in my life right now!
