Leading Bible Study in German
2009 February 25
Yup, we crossed that hurdle. Last week, Thadd led our small group bible study in German! We prepared the materials together on James 3 and then Thadd led the discussion. There was only one question that was unclear and it appears the rest of it was understood. We had a few good group discussions from the text so we’re thankful for that! So I guess we’ll see if we’re asked again to lead, how well we really did

I have once or twice, but not in the way you may think. Usually, it’s me talking to a German friend or bumbling through some German – not having whole dreams in German outside of the context of me being an American trying to speak German. I do, on the other hand, think a lot in German. Usually, I form German sentences in my head on how I might respond to certain situations or questions. It’s good practice, but often, it’s perfect in my head and comes out anything but.
Now do you dream in German too? Pretty amazing..all that in such a short period of time. Immersion is a vital key to learning the language I guess!
well done!!! amazing.
I even had to ask Thadd if he had ever led a Bible Study in English before. He had a bunch of times. But I thought it would have been funny if his first time leading a Bible Study was in German
Now that’s a huge hurdle. Well done you guys.
Wow! I’m so incredibly impressed.
