Parenthood

We leave today to go to Königsfeld which is situated in the Blackforest about a 2 hour drive from here. GEM offers a service to their missionaries called “Member Care”. Member Care is a team of missionaries who raise support to give support to other missionaries on the field. One of the ways they provide support is through counseling. We are visiting a GEM counselor who lives in Königsfeld to discuss:
- Raising a Daughter from a Christian Perspective
- Raising a well-adjusted 3rd Culture Daughter
- Preparing for our first Home Ministry Assignment (especially with our Daughter)
We are excited to discuss these topics and gain some Godly perspective on parenthood. Please pray for us this weekend, that God would grant us wisdom and understanding to know just how he designed the parent-child relationship to be.

Yes, we’re trying to be more intentional about moving into the phase. We had a really good time and it was nice to get away and just be able to discuss topics like this. Norm had some very helpful things to say and opened up some great communication between Thadd and I. So all-in-all, it was a wonderful weekend and we’re glad we had the opportunity to partake.
wow, that’s way more instruction than we ever got when we were about to be three little somebodies parents!! A gift.
