October Update
Dear Friends & Family,
The cooler temperatures, nice cloud cover, and gentle breeze told me this morning that it truly is October and that it has been too long since I contacted everyone. So here I am again ready to let you know what?Äôs going on with our mission.
Currently, we?Äôre averaging 5 ?Äì 6 appointments a week which has kept us busy! It has been truly amazing to fellowship with those we don?Äôt normally fellowship. We?Äôve been encouraged time and again regarding the Lord?Äôs calling on our life and know that the Lord will supply our needs in every circumstance. If you?Äôve been on our website recently, you?Äôll notice that we have reached 16% of our monthly support goal (Updates -> $ Goals). This is the official number and we believe the unofficial number to be more than 20%. Praise God! Lord willing, we are right on track for completing our support raising within the 10 months we designated.
For those of you in different areas than California, we will be in the Carolina?Äôs Dec 15 ?Äì 19 and in Bradenton, FL Dec 19 ?Äì 31. We will probably be in touch within the next few months to schedule a time where we can sit down with you and personally discuss our calling, ministry, and vision.
Quick updates:
Thadd is teaching 8th graders Bible, History, and English in a Christian school that is very supportive of missions. He is enjoying the students (all 16 of them!) immensely and we both know this is the right place for him at this time in our lives. I?Äôm continually amazed at how well he juggles teaching full time, fundraising, church ministry, and being a loving husband ?Äì I was skeptical when we started, but he?Äôs doing a tremendous job handling all the stress and getting things done that need to be.
I started my own business and am working on websites from home which gives me the necessary flexibility to organize our fundraising efforts. I am also coaching 8th grade volleyball at a local Christian school which keeps me on my toes! In addition, I am using my sewing skills to minister to hospitalized women (in conjunction with other women in my church) by making pretty hospital gowns ?Äì finally, a project that doesn?Äôt increase my wardrobe! So we?Äôre keeping busy, but enjoying every minute of the Lord?Äôs work here in San Diego.
Prayer Requests:
1. For sustained energy and management of time
2. For enthusiasm for our upcoming ministry in Europe that can seem so far away sometimes!
3. For spiritual growth ?Äì especially during our mentoring meetings (we are both being mentored by a person in our church)
Thank you so much for your support thus far! We?Äôve received a lot of encouraging messages over the last month or so and are very thankful for each one. Our next newsletter will come out in November for the Christmas season so be looking for that!
In Christ,
Thadd & Laura Davis
