Spiritual Warfare

Just wanted to update everyone on a prayer request.¬? We are doing really well and continue to be greatly encouraged every step of the way.¬? We are very excited to be at 25% or our monthly goal which puts us ahead of where we need to be at this point to make our goal of Germany in September 2007.¬? We have noticed that as we become more excited about what the Lord is doing, Satan tries even harder to make us fall.¬? So our biggest prayer right now is for endurance in the midst of Satan’s schemes.¬? I just finished reading Ephesians 6 where Paul talks about the armor of God….that’s my prayer for us right now.¬? That we would put that armor on and realize that prayer is the most powerful weapon we have.¬? It is our life line to our Father who will sustain and nourish us.¬? Also, that we would continue to garnish encouragement from the scripture.¬? We use Romans 15:4 alot in our fundraising – “that through endurance and encouragement of the scripture, we might have hope”.

Some examples of the spiritual warfare we’ve noticed:

  • Being late to donor appointments because of bad traffic or other things that demand our attention when we should be walking about the door
  • Lack of energy and enthusiasm when leaving for an appointment
  • Inability to effectively share our ministry because we’re distracted or just not speaking well

But we’ve always noticed that if we use our time in the car for prayer, as soon as we step over the threshold of someone’s house, our attitudes are changed and the Lord refreshes us with his Spirit anew.

So this is our prayer for all of you as well.¬? That you will have the energy and enthusiasm you need in order to share your faith with those around you.¬? We’re all missionaries in our own neighborhoods and we need to be intentional about sharing our faith.¬? Hard to do but through prayer, not impossible!

Thad & Laura, We are praying for you. Thanks for the specific requests. I plan to give you a call today or this weekend. I’ll see if I can catch one of you.
