Simultaneous Awareness…

So usually I can sense when my sense of something is accurate, and often I am right about an intuition. Laura has a very keen sense of when I am considering some new idea or when I haven’t communicated a feeling in a while, especially if it is an idea for a long awaited book, and she knows what is lacking in our daily conversation.  This time, we both arrived at the same conclusion separately but at similar life-moments. It has only happened a few times before: in Florida on the beach prior to the 1st “I love you”; in San Diego upon my return from Kazahkstan as we decided to follow God’s call to the mission field; and now as we both realized that our passion for the direction we’ve been headed is feigning. We both sensed God calling us to something more, something deeper in our spiritual walk, which I think should be a standard, daily thing as we seek Him more, but this was a more general notice that God wants more of/from us.

That is a hard thing to realize for one person, but when man and wife both become aware it is disturbing, in the right ways. I think, after a few difficult days of real reflection/prayer/and Bible seeking, we are both to the Holy Spirit guided place that He wants us to be, namely back to a sole dependency upon Him and a hunger for Him. That is not new for me and I hope and pray it never gets old…

I love how you are willing to be transparent! Also, by all appearances (external)it would seem that you have all that you need/want, i.e. rewarding fulling job, beautiful wife, beautiful new baby etc etc..YET..as you declare, it is not enough (echoes of Ecclesiastes).

It is GRACE that makes you see your need for God HIMSELF as others would be content and or chasing after other things to make them have that sense of fullfillment.

I pray the Lord satisfies you with Himself. And in so doing fits you to minister to those who hunger as well. For His Glory
    :-)
